Children & Family Art Therapy
Working with emotions when words don’t work.
Is your child having a hard time with big feelings, transitions, friendships, or experiences they can’t quite put into words? Are drop-offs becoming tearful, are you hearing “my stomach hurts” every morning, or are you hoping to help your child feel more secure and understood?
Perhaps your family is adjusting after a loss or separation, navigating stress or conflict, or trying to find your footing in a new family rhythm.
Art therapy offers children and families a creative way to express what’s happening, understand one another, and explore new ways of moving through challenges together. Sessions are shaped around your child’s or family’s unique needs and goals, weaving art-making, conversation, play, and creative experiences.
No art experience is needed.
I have experience working with children with a range of needs, goals, and capacities, including neurodivergent children, children with histories of trauma, and children with mental and physical health diagnoses. I tailor sessions to each child’s strengths, interests, communication style, sensory needs, and pace.
I’m familiar with navigating the BC Autism Funding portal with families and, with family consent, collaborate with the elementary school counsellor and other supports in the community when it supports the child’s care.
Individual Art Therapy
Individual sessions are best suited for school-aged children. They offer time and space for your child to explore what’s going on at their own pace, with invitations shaped around their interests, strengths, needs, and goals.
Parent–Child
Art Therapy
Parent–child sessions are helpful for children under five, or for school aged children who struggle with anxiety.
Together, we’ll use creative experiences to strengthen the emotional ties between you and your child. Sessions can help your child feel safer and more settled when you aren’t present, while giving you opportunities to connect and understand one another in new ways.
Family Art Therapy
If your family is navigating a transition, finding your footing after loss or separation, or facing stress and conflict, family art therapy offers a supportive space to express yourselves in healthy ways and work through distress together.
Creative experiences can help family members share different perspectives, learn tools for communication, and reconnect.
Groups
I offer groups for children and small groups for parent–child dyads. Groups can support belonging and connection, and may be a more cost-effective way to access therapy.

Getting Started
We’ll begin with an intake meeting, where I meet with a parent or caregiver. Youth in their teens may want to attend with their parents, and those aged 16 and over can come independently.
I’ll share more about what working with me looks like and ask about your child’s needs, strengths, and goals. We can talk through your questions and consider what kind of support may be the best fit.
You’re also welcome to book a complimentary 15-minute exploration call if you’d like to connect before scheduling an intake.
