HeART
An intimate six-week psychotherapy group embodying self-compassion through yoga, somatic practices, art therapy, and connection.
What might become possible if you could meet yourself with less criticism and more compassion?
Many of us understand self-compassion intellectually, yet struggle to access it when we feel overwhelmed, ashamed, uncertain, or disconnected from ourselves. We may recognize the voice of our inner critic without knowing how to respond differently, or find that talking about our experiences only takes us so far.
HeART offers a space to experience self-compassion from the inside out.
This intimate group therapy series weaves together trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, art psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and self-reflection. Through movement, creative expression, embodied awareness, and supportive connection, we will explore the inner critic, nervous-system regulation, boundaries, emotional expression, connection, and self-trust.
Rather than trying to force change, we will gently practise becoming curious about what is present, listening to the wisdom of the body, and creating more space around the thoughts, feelings, and patterns that can keep us feeling stuck.
The Alchemy of Compassion
Compassion does not ask us to deny our pain, excuse harmful behaviour, or remain where we are. It asks us to meet what is present with awareness, courage, and care.
When we respond to ourselves with criticism, shame, or pressure, our protective patterns often become louder. Compassion offers another possibility: enough inner safety to remain present with what hurts, become curious about what we need, and choose how we want to respond.
Sometimes compassion is tender. It may look like rest, reassurance, grieving, or offering ourselves the care we would readily give someone we love.
Sometimes compassion is fierce. It may ask us to set a boundary, speak honestly, protect our energy, meet an unmet need, or make a difficult change.
This is the alchemy at the heart of heART: judgment can soften into curiosity, isolation into shared humanity, and self-criticism into a more supportive relationship with ourselves. Compassion does not remove the difficult parts of being human—it changes how we hold them,
This group may be for you if you:
Struggle with self-criticism, perfectionism, shame, or feeling “not enough”
Feel disconnected from your body, emotions, creativity, or sense of self
Have tried talk therapy but feel stuck or curious about a more embodied and experiential approach
Are moving through grief, burnout, trauma healing, or a significant life transition
Find it easier to offer compassion to others than to yourself
Want to strengthen your boundaries, emotional awareness, and self-trust
Long to feel witnessed and supported within a compassionate community
What to Expect
Each 3.5-hour session will include:
A grounding and check-in circle
Trauma-informed yoga and somatic practices including mantra, mudra, visualization, breathwork, and tools you can take with you off the mat
A short break
A guided art psychotherapy session with optional art invitations
Time for reflection and integration
Optional sharing and compassionate witnessing
You will also receive a thoughtfully prepared package of art materials to use throughout the series. You are welcome to bring any additional materials that feel meaningful or supportive to you.
Each session will anchor into group safety, invite a different way of embodying compassion, and include nervous-system awareness, meeting the inner critic and protective parts, setting boundaries, allowing emotional expression, receiving care, facilitating connection, and cultivating a more trusting relationship with yourself.
You do not need any experience with yoga or art. The focus is not on flexibility, artistic skill, or creating something that looks a particular way. The process is more important than the product. Every invitation is optional and can be adapted to your needs, comfort, and capacity.
Your artwork will not be interpreted for you. Instead, you will be supported in becoming curious about the images, sensations, emotions, memories, and personal meaning that emerge through your own process.

The Intake Process
Before registering, we will meet individually for an intake meeting. I’ll share more about what it is like to work with me, how the group will be structured, and what you can expect from the series.
I’ll also invite you to share a little about what is bringing you to heART, your needs and goals, relevant experiences or accessibility considerations, and what may help you feel supported within the group. There will be plenty of room to ask questions and explore whether the offering feels like a good fit for you.
The intake helps me thoughtfully shape the series around the participants while supporting safety, choice, and meaningful connection within the group.
If you still have questions, you can book a complimentary 15-minute exploration call.
